No boating license is required: before departure, our team will give you a clear safety and navigation briefing, explain the rules of the lake and suggest the best itineraries based on weather and rental duration. You only need a valid ID and credit card; we take care of the rest.

We have been operating on Lake Como for years with passion and professionalism, and fortunately, we have never been involved in any serious accidents. Still, we could tell you many unfortunate stories about those who underestimated the lake. It doesn’t matter if you’ve surfed the waves at Banzai Pipeline or if you think the lake is just a swimming pool: you are mistaken. If you’ve been drinking, if you don’t consider yourself a confident swimmer, or if, for any reason, you don’t feel completely in tune with the water, be honest with yourself. Don’t turn your holiday into something unpleasant. Always follow our instructions and respect navigation rules. Have fun safely. We’re here to help you enjoy the lake to the fullest. How does the boat rental service work?

Is it necessary to book in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking in advance, as the availability of boats can vary, especially during high season. By booking in advance, you guarantee the best service and the availability of the boat of your choice. After booking, you will receive a confirmation and all the necessary details for the service. The price includes the rental of the boat, the captain and the on-board services.

What documents do I need to present when renting a boat?

To rent a boat on Lake Como, you need to present a valid ID (Identity Card or Passport) and a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard). Other payment or guarantee methods, such as debit cards, Bancomat, cash, or smartphone payments, are not accepted.

What documents are retained during the rental period?

During the rental, we retain digital copies of the necessary documents: rental contract, ID, and credit card. These details are stored in compliance with privacy regulations and used exclusively for rental-related purposes.

When do I need to make the payment for the rental?

In case of online booking, to confirm availability, a payment link will be sent to confirm the same. The booking will be confirmed only after payment for the service; in the absence of this, WEC will be free to reassign the booked service to other customers who wish. In case of booking directly at our center, payment will be made before the activity, subject to availability.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes, a security deposit via credit card (Visa or Mastercard) is required to secure the rental. The card will not be charged but will serve as a guarantee for any damages or incidents during the rental period. Other guarantee methods, such as debit cards, Bancomat, cash, or smartphone payments, are not accepted.

What happens in case of damage to the boat during the rental?

In case of damage attributable to the renter during the rental period, we reserve the right to retain the security deposit as compensation. If the damages exceed the deposit amount, the renter will be required to cover the full cost according to the rental agreement and the current price list.

Is fuel included in the rental cost?

No, fuel is not included in the boat rental price on Lake Como. Fuel consumption depends on the navigation time and cruising speed. To ensure transparency, each boat is equipped with an onboard computer that accurately calculates the fuel consumption from the start to the end of the rental. At the end of the experience, you will only be charged for the actual fuel consumed.

Can I cancel the booking? Is a refund provided in case of cancellation or bad weather?

Bad Weather
If, in our sole discretion, the conditions do not allow us to carry out the activity safely, we offer a Voucher of equal value, valid for the entire solar season or a Partial Refund with a 20% deduction on management costs.

Cancellations
Within 72 hours before the activity, you can have a Voucher of equal value (valid for the entire season) or a partial refund with a 30% deduction due to force majeure. Less than 72 hours before the activity there is no refund in money, if possible, we offer a voucher based on availability.

No Show
There is no refund or voucher.

Are pets allowed onboard?

No. Unfortunately, although we love animals, for safety reasons and for critical situations that animals could involuntarily cause, we do not allow our animal friends on board our boats, so they cannot participate in the tour. If you show up at the boarding with a pet, we will unfortunately be forced to cancel the service without the possibility of a refund.

Is a food and drinks service available onboard?

Yes, it is possible to pre-book drinks, wines and lunch boxes prepared by our Lounge Bar. Meals and drinks can be served during the tour, for an even more pleasant and complete experience.

Can I dock the boat anywhere? Are there any navigation restrictions on Lake Como?

You can navigate freely on Lake Como, respecting certain restrictions: Maintain reduced speed within 150 meters of the shore and in the Isola Comacina channel. In Como, avoid the corridor marked by yellow buoys, designated for seaplane takeoff and landing. Docking is strictly prohibited: rental boats, in accordance with current laws, cannot dock at piers or buoys. Failure to comply may result in administrative fines.
